Pakistani Actor Mahira Khan Condemns Pahalgam Attack, Later Deletes Post

    April 26, 20252 Mins Read

Pakistani actor Mahira Khan briefly took to social media to condemn the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, before later deleting the post—drawing mixed reactions across the internet.

The deadly attack occurred in the tourist town of Pahalgam, where a convoy of pilgrims was ambushed, leading to multiple casualties and injuries. The attack has been widely condemned by political leaders, celebrities, and citizens alike, as it targeted innocent civilians during a time meant for peaceful religious travel.

Mahira Khan, known for her performances in Pakistani dramas and her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees (2017), expressed her horror and sadness in an Instagram story, writing:

“What happened in Pahalgam is heartbreaking. Violence against innocent lives—no matter where or who—is unacceptable. Prayers for the victims and their families.”

However, within hours, the post disappeared from her account, sparking speculation online. Some users praised her courage for speaking out, while others speculated that she may have faced backlash or pressure, leading to the deletion.

Neither Mahira nor her team has publicly addressed the deletion or clarified her reasons. This silence has only fueled further discussion, especially given the sensitive nature of India-Pakistan relations and the scrutiny that public figures from both sides face when commenting on cross-border issues.

This is not the first time Mahira Khan has found herself in the spotlight for political or humanitarian commentary. As one of Pakistan’s most internationally recognized actors, her words carry significant weight—but also invite criticism from various quarters.

As tensions in the region remain high, Mahira Khan’s now-deleted post serves as a reminder of the delicate balance artists often navigate between personal conviction and public scrutiny.
